Finding balance in an unstable world
The earth is rotating just over 1,000 miles per hour (at the equator), and around the sun at about 67,000 miles per hour, every day, all day, for the entirety of our lives. Is it a wonder that we sometimes loose our footing? No. To me, it’s a wonder we are able to keep out footing, ever.
All I can say is that I’m lucky to have the people around me willing to help, willing to listen, and able to love me. Love changes everything. My family is not ideal, in fact, they are so messed up sometimes I wonder how we made it this far. But I love them, and they love me back, and because of all that love in every direction I feel taken care of, I have hope, I can go to sleep at night and know that if anything bad happens tomorrow there are a few wonderful people who would come to my rescue at any time, any place, and not bat an eye for my asking them to do it.
So thank you Mom, Dad, Teresa, Carol. You are difficult, you annoy me, you make me sad sometimes. I’ve never laughed so hard as when I laugh with you. I’ve never known for certain that I would give my life for someone without even considering it besides with you. I hold fast to this swiftly tilting planet because you are there to hold me and love me and protect me, whenever, forever.
